Assessing the level of employee loyalty

Key benefits from research

Thanks to the use of the research results, you will receive an increase in employee productivity and a reduction in business costs by more than 10-15% (for surveys conducted for the first time).

Assessing employee satisfaction allows you to obtain objective information about the internal situation in departments, about individual managers and department heads. This information will help you retain valuable employees and get rid of hidden sabotage. The survey is conducted on condition of anonymity.

Opportunities of the method

This type of research allows us to determine the attitude of employees towards the company as a whole, towards their department, towards the manager, as well as assess satisfaction with individual work parameters, which ultimately affects the productivity of employees and the financial results of the company.

Sample size and timeline

The sample size for the survey should be at least 80% of the number of employees of the organization or department. The minimum period for such a survey is 1 business day. However, it is recommended to allow at least 2.5 weeks for the survey - for cases when some of the employees are on a business trip, on sick leave or on vacation.

Cost

The cost of a loyalty assessment project consists of the cost of collecting a selected number of questionnaires (payment is taken only for fully completed questionnaires) and the cost of analytics (usually no more than 10-15% of the cost of data collection)

The cost of such a study is from 3,000 £ (the cost is indicated for a minimum sample).

Description of the approach

Assessing the level of loyalty is the calculation of the loyalty index (%). Mathematically, this is the percentage of employees who plan to continue working for the company. Additionally, the level of employee satisfaction with work in the company is assessed. For normal operation of the organization, this figure must be more than 70%.

Work on employee loyalty should begin with the initial measurement: calculating the starting level of loyalty. It is advisable to carry out subsequent measurements at the end of each financial year.

A related study is to determine the list of loyalty factors. It provides information about what factors primarily influence employee satisfaction and, as a result, productivity.

Process of research

BCGroup’s work on assessing the level of employee loyalty is structured as follows:

1. The BCGroup specialist clarifies whether it is planned to only assess the level of loyalty or whether this will go in parallel with assessing satisfaction or identifying factors of employee loyalty;
2. A BCGroup specialist agrees with the customer on the final version of the survey questionnaire;
3. An NDA (confidentiality agreement) is signed between BCGroup and the company. According to the document, all contacts transferred by the customer are deleted by BCGroup after the completion of the project;
4. The company provides BCGroup with contacts for surveys on the basis that the average response rate to employee surveys is about 60-70%;
5. BCGroup specialists conduct the survey in a short time (it is possible to survey up to 5,000 people per day);
6. Next, the BCGroup employee transfers the data array to the customer’s representative in Excel or SPSS format; other formats are possible for further integration with the customer’s systems;
7. After 3-5 days, a BCGroup employee sends an analytical report to the customer based on the results of assessing employee loyalty and satisfaction
