Estimating the level of piracy

Last year, the research agency BCGroup conducted a survey of enterprises on the use of pirated software.

The purpose of this study was to assess the level of piracy.

The objectives of the study included:

• general assessment of the level of piracy;
• assessment of the level of piracy separately in large, medium and small businesses;
• assessment of the level of piracy in different regions of Russia;
• identifying the presence of procedures in companies for operating and updating licensed software.

An online survey of organizations was used as a method of collecting information. The sample was quotated by industry and size of organizations in accordance with the structure of the economy of the region under study.

Research is carried out on a regular basis.
