Loneliness and social orphanhood

Loneliness

Last year, the research agency BCGroup conducted a study of the problems of orphans in one of the regions.

The purpose of the study was to obtain an assessment of the relevance of the problem of orphans among residents of the region.

The following tasks were set for the study:

  • assessment of citizens’ attitudes towards adoption and care of orphans;
  • assessment of the level of legislative awareness of citizens on orphanhood issues;
  • estimate of the share of the population considering the possibility of adopting an orphan child;
  • identifying a list of the main reasons stopping citizens from adopting or taking into care of orphans.

Online interviews were used as data collection methods. 3,000 residents of the region took part in the survey.

Based on the information collected, analysts were able to assess the severity and relevance of the problem being studied.
